Howdy, Whoop, & Gig'em

On September 24 we headed to Aggieland for the A&M vs OSU game. Although our Aggies didn't win we still enjoyed tailgating and catching up with friends. Ethan loved all the game day fun that was to be had.

He perfected his Gig'em.

And had a blast with the tackling dummies on the practice field.

We got to hangout with Uncle Clay & Aunt Marcy

And a bunch of our favorite Aggie friends!!

We cheered on the Aggies at Kyle Field

and Ethan loved running full speed down the ramps as we left Kyle Field

2nd Annual R.E.D neck Holiday

So if something happens two years in a row does it become an "annual" event? We decided it does! On Labor Day we gathered again with our friends the Donahoos and the Robertsons and had ourselves the 2nd annual R.E.D neck (Robertson, Erwin, & Donahoo) holiday!

Labor Day weekend kicks of Dove Season in Texas however like last year there were no birds to be had. We of course didn't want those guns that had been taken out to sit unused so we shot other stuff....primarily skeet and marshmallows (see last years post First Friday, First Monday, Shootin' & Pickin' for details)

I had a great time shooting skeet and was pretty accurate with the 12 gauge!

Ethan was accurate with his Pop gun!

Zack had some help loading the skeet thrower

A True Texas Woman even shoots with her leg crossed!

Good Times, Good Times!! Looking forward to the 3rd Annual R.E.D neck Holiday!!

Lubbock LOVE

A couple of weekends ago our friends Sarah and Brody came to visit us from Lubbock. We had seen them a couple weeks before when we headed to Lubbock but we were so excited to have them hang out with us in Granbury! Ethan and Brody are about 9 months apart but they look like they could be twins!

Friday night they played for several hours outside with all of the ride on toys.

In true "Boy" spirit they went non stop!!

Tractor sounds and laughs filled the air and was so great to see these two together.

Saturday we decided to let the boys go ride the horses.
This was Brody's first up close and personal experience with a horse and he did GREAT!

Ethan is infatuated with horses!! So he was ready to saddle up and show Brody how it's done.

Brody laughed as Ethan rode along and he was READY for his turn. He got right up on Chief and rode along all smiles!!

Ethan had to "help" lead Chief as Brody rode.

Both boys had a blast and we enjoyed watching them experience such a fun time!
We had such a great visit and really look forward to the next time that Sarah and Brody come visit.
Here is a picture from last year's visit, so hard to believe how much they can change in just one year!

Aggie Engagement

I was very excited to take the engagement pictures for my brother Jared and his fiance Lauren. Since they were both Aggie's we headed to College Station to take their pictures.

We started out on Northgate

Then we headed to Kyle Field.

We got a lot of great shots all around campus too!

We had a great day and got a bunch of great pictures. I'm really looking forward to their destination wedding in Mexico on May 12th, and taking some more pictures for these two!

Life On the Giant Side

In July (yes I realize that it's September! It's been a little busy and I'm A LOT behind on my blogging) we had a great trip to Lubbock to see some of our favorite friends and family!! We stayed with Uncle Clay and Aunt Marcy and got to hang out with our precious niece Addison.

We got to all spend the day hanging out at the pool on Saturday with our friends Sarah and Brody.
Ethan LOVES the water and was a little fish!

Jumping into the big pool to Uncle Clay.

He and Brody had a great time splashing around.

Addison had to catching a nap poolside. Swimming and sunning is hard work!

Saturday evening everyone got together and we cooked out and enjoyed the evening. With 3 very active toddlers we had to get creative to keep everyone entertained.

Who knew you could make your very own wagon with a diaper box and a rope!
Now that is creative (or WT)!!

We even gave Snoop Dog his turn riding!

4th of July weekend FUN

We had a very busy and very fun 4th of July weekend!
We headed out Saturday morning and traveled down to Schertz to spend some time with my Grandma. We enjoyed hanging out with her for the afternoon and then we had some great fried catfish and awesome onion rings at Clear Springs Restaurant for dinner.

Sunday we headed to Fredericksburg for the rest of our weekend plans.
We got into town and did a little shopping on Main Street.

My boys weren't thrilled about shopping but they endured and we got a great lunch at the Fredericksburg Brewery Co.

We then headed to Luckenbach to enjoy a laid back afternoon under the big oak trees with good music and great friends.

Walt Wilkins, Jason Eady, and Robyn Ludwick did a song swap.
We enjoyed music, fun stories, and cold beer! Doesn't get much better!!

Ethan had a blast exploring Luckenbach. He loved "playing" this guitar sculpture and chasing the resident roosters.

After the music was over an impromptu game of Wiffle Ball was started up. The base lines were drawn, bases laid out, teams picked and then it was ON!!
So much fun on a Sunday afternoon!

Monday was the 4th and we headed back to downtown Fredericksburg for their 4th of July parade. Ethan enjoyed seeing the fire trucks, waving to the floats, and of course he went crazy for the horses.

After the parade, we found this coin operated horse ride in front of an ice cream shop. Ethan climbed up and was sitting there checking it out. We slipped a couple coins in and Ethan didn't know what to think when the horse started moving! His face lit up, he held on, and LOVED the ride!!

We grabbed lunch at Rather Sweet Bakery (which has great lunch and AWESOME desserts!!) and then we headed back to Luckenbach for
Live Free and Fly 4th of July Celebration
hosted by the Wilkins Family.
Hearing Tina Wilkins sing God Bless America is one of my favorite moments of the day!

We celebrated the 4th here last year

and it was great to be back with family and friends again this year.

We feel truly blessed to have the freedom to gather with friends and loved ones and celebrate this way. We are thankful for the men and women who serve our country and for those who have helped make this possible!!
